Turn Key Air Conditioning feel that air source heat pumps have great potential as a domestic heating system of the future. Ecodan air source heat pumps are an application of Mitsubishi’s well proven heat pump technology to the domestic market in Sunderland and Newcastle. Ecodan air source heat pumps operate at significantly higher levels of efficiency than traditional methods of home heating. They are also much easier to install than ground source heat pumps, making them an ideal solution as a low energy, low cost, low carbon domestic heating system.
The Ecodan air source heat pump’s external unit is fitted to an outside wall. It takes renewable, low grade energy from the outdoor air and upgrades it into heat, to supply a home with hot water and heating. Ecodan is extremely energy efficient, for every 1kW of electricity fed into Ecodan, at least 3kW of heating energy is provided. This air source heat pump system also works efficiently all year round.
Ecodan is a factory sealed air source heat pump, connected by flow and return water pipes to either a hot water storage tank and/or central heating. When installed in a domestic environment it comes under domestic related building regulations, including Part P and G3. To ensure Ecodan installations meet these and Mitsubishi’s own installation requirements, the Ecodan air sourced heat pump systems are supplied only through Mitsubishi Ecodan Approved Installers covering areas from Tyneside to London.
Heat pumps operate very differently to traditional boilers and so it is vital that Ecodan is correctly installed and operates at its maximum energy efficiency. Through the Heating Partner Programme, Mitsubishi provides detailed training and support to Approved Installers of Ecodan.
