HVAC – Ventilation – Installation & Maintenance – TKAC
February 21, 2015
TKAC built our reputation on the design, manufacture and installation of state-of-the-art air conditioning systems. Over the years we have been consistently at the leading edge of air conditioning technology. TKAC have embraced recent breakthroughs in heat exchange systems that combine heating and air conditioning into a combined, easily controllable and energy efficient system.
Heating and air conditioning are only part of the answer for maintaining temperature, climate and humidity control in the workplace. The third strand is ventilation, and architects and building engineers often refer to HVAC systems – Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning.
Put simply, ventilation is the process of replacing stale air with fresh air. Good ventilation removes unpleasant odours, moisture, dust, airborne bacteria and carbon dioxide, replenishes oxygen levels and circulates clean, fresh air throughout the building.
In years gone by, natural ventilation systems relied on wind or temperature differentials to draw in fresh air. Wind driven systems – through windows or vents – were dependent on the strength and direction of the wind, while temperature differential systems worked by maintaining a warmer temperature at the top of the building, thus drawing in colder fresh air at lower levels. In either case, natural ventilation soon becomes ineffective in larger and multi-floored structures. Modern ventilation systems usually overcome this problem by being based on mechanical extraction and circulation techniques.
Where TKAC’s expertise and experience comes into its own is in integrating ventilation requirements with heating and air conditioning systems. Integrated systems are generally more energy efficient and cost effective to run. And with TKAC offering combined servicing and maintenance packages for heating, ventilation and air conditioning it is little surprise that so many local and national companies come to TKAC for all their HVAC requirements.
